How finalists will be selected

Charities and not-for–profit organisations will be asked to submit outstanding volunteers that have joined the Intrepid Volunteers Challenge.

The Intrepid Volunteers committee will select eight people in nine different categories (as listed below) as semi finalists. The semi finalists will be posted on this webpage and profiled in our national newspaper supplement. Then we will ask the online community to vote for the finalists.

The people with the most votes will go to the national awards in Auckland and be featured in a special volunteering supplement in Good magazine.

At the awards, the committee will select one winner from each category. The crowd at the event will vote for the 2009 Intrepid Volunteer of the Year. The volunteer superstar will win a $5,000 volunteering holiday from Intrepid Travel
